As a valued tenant of Peter Lees you can expect to be treated at all times with respect, compassion and kindness. We aim to make renting a property in the Greater Launceston area as straight forward and simple as possible. We want happy tenants who will look after a property as if it were their own.

Here you’ll find information that will help make you rental journey as smooth as possible.

Emergency Maintenance

Emergency repairs consist of the following:

  • A burst water service or a serious water service leak
  • A serious roof leak
  • A dangerous electrical fault
  • A serious storm, fire or impact damage
  • A failure or breakdown of an essential service or appliance on the premises for hot water, cooking or heating.
  • A fault or damage likely to injure a person, damage property or unduly inconvenience a tenant of premises.
  • A blocked or broken toilet system
  • A gas leak
  • Flooding or serious flood damage
  • A failure or breakdown of the gas, electricity or water supply to the premises.
  • A fault or damage that makes the premises unsafe or insecure.
  • A serious fault in a staircase, lift or other common area of premises that unduly inconveniences a tenant in gaining access to, or using, the premises.

 

In all instances, please check your lease for Emergency Contact details as some properties have specific requirements.

How to Apply for a Property

When it comes to applying for properties we make this as simple as possible. Each property on our website will have an ‘Apply’ button, simply click this and follow the instructions.

When applying for a property to rent you’ll need to provide 100 points of ID, unfortunately we are unable to accept incomplete applications. You’ll also need the following documents and references ready to go:

  • Current credit check (no more than 60 days old) from Tas Collection Services or Veda (if you have lived outside of Tasmania at all during the past 12 months);
  • Contact name and details of your current and previous property manager or landlord (whether private or agency)
  • Evidence of employment (payslips or bank statements) as well as a contact name & number for your employer
  • Proof of affordability if you are currently receiving Government allowances/payments (Centrelink statement)
  • 1 Personal and 1 Professional referee - contact name and number (must not be a relative or friend)
  • Photo ID (drivers licence, passport, student ID, keypass)
  • Medicare card or Concession card

 

Inspections

VIEW the property online and thoroughly check out the online photo’s & video provided.

DRIVE PAST the property so that you understand the location and proximity to shops/schools etc.

APPLY online on the website property page, or contact us via phone – (03) 6331 5544. If you call, you’ll receive a link to apply.

SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION.

Once your application is approved, a PRIVATE INSPECTION of the property will be arranged prior to you signing the lease.
